Just wrapping up a renovation of our 1990's kitchen at our vacation home. Needed to brighten it up and create a better flow for entertaining by eliminating peninsula and adding an island. Upgraded appliances and some cabinetry along the way but kept most of existing cabinets (yes, arches and all!) since they were great quality cherry and in excellent shape, despite being more than 25 years old. Probably would have replaced cabinet doors rather than painting them if I had it to do over, mostly because the lacquering process was so time consuming and ended up being pretty expensive (although still cheaper than replacing). Favorite things so far? The cooking utensils pullout near range, KA induction range, single bowl Frankie sink, stack of deep and wide drawers for cookware, KA retractable and nearly invisible range hood (going against the trend of massive showy hoods), and the new island with a locally crafted heart pine top made from 100+ year old floor joists from a nearby beach cottage that was torn down.
