Winter damage - pine tree

Hello,
Winter damage (lots of snow) resulted in a split trunk mid-way of a 5-7 year old tree. I tried to temporarily support injured section.

Any ideas for a more permanent fix....or is the tree beyond repair?

It's toast.

Not only the split but bark damage above the split alone would limit it's chances of recovery..

Even if it was strictly an ornamental tree, which I've seen bolted together in a case like this, will be a rude awakening when the tree is eventually removed and the tree guy hits bolts with his chain saw, very dangerous. And this species will become very large, so possible it would snap off in a wind storm at the weak spot several years down the road..

Best just to replace it.

It could still be saved by cutting just below the branch whorl in the center & tie up the largest side branch from below as vertically as you can to the remaining trunk.
