Need paint color advice

I purchased a pair of these from a design consignment store and need to refinish them. I'd like to accent the carved wood by painting a metallic paint on the accents and a matte color on the rest of the wood. I haven't been able to find any examples of original color combinations so would greatly appreciate advice for my project.

What a gorgeous chair! When you say metallic, are you thinking gold or silver? Are you leaving the cushion as is? What room are these going in and do you already have a theme in place? This chair screams gold to me, or at the very least a bronze. I am no expert on painting furniture. Is there a way to have one paint inside the etchings and one not? I assume you've painted furniture before so you must know how this works. LOL. I'm simply commenting in hopes of helping you get some feedback!

Thank you, it will be in the home office seen in the picture. The seat will be reupholstered in a faux leather, either carpet color or dark - depending on the main wood color.

The metallic I was thinking of for the carved accents is antique gold, or even a copper color. The overall color for the chair is the great mystery for me.
