I have existing prefinished maple hardwood in most of my main level, however there were 2 rooms on the same level that were left carpeted. The carpeted rooms connect to each other, and 1 of them connects to my existing hardwood. I am looking for ideas to somehow get new hardwood down in place of the carpet but my existing wood is no longer made....can I use 2 different colors of wood? 2 different species?
