Background: Hubs and I do a significant amount of dog rescue (fostered/placed 13 rescues from kill shelters in WV and the Carolinas last year) and have a permanent pack of 4 at all times, and we are building a HUGE dog room/run in the basement (approx. 900 sq.ft) with an automatic dog door to an outdoor dog run, an elevated fridge for food/meds, a large laundry sink & cabinet in the back corner/alcove, 2 drains in a stained & sealed concrete floor, and a waist-level hose bib so I can powerwash the room down if/when needed.... Yes, powerwash!

I've been trying to find a good, aesthetically-acceptable, and cost effect option for the walls (which will get wet, ... perhaps VERY wet), and one of my friends sent me a video of what he just finished in his garage. He works on classic cars and wanted to be able to wash them in the winter in the garage, so he created "industrial wainscotting" with a stained 2" x 6" treated-lumber baseboard, corrugated metal roofing siliconed to the base and top "beer" rail, and a stained (matching) drink rail; oh, and he's mounting a TV (or 2) in the area that he's run shiplap to the ceiling. I find that I really like this look.
