What paint did you use for this project? I just had my fireplace inspected and I am having to repaint it because the paint that was used by the previous owner was not fire retardant.

@Laura, We just painted the outer parts of the fireplace that do not get hot. Always check with the local rules and regulations but fire retardant paint was not required here.
