What are some elegant granite options for a mixture of cream and dark stained cabinets?

We have a mixture of maple cabinets with alabaster cream painted with a light glaze ( on the perimeter) and alder cabinets with a dark stain ( on the island). What do you recommend for granite choices? Keeping all one granite color throughout or having one granite for the perimeter and the other for the island? We would the names of some granite that you recommend!
