Your furniture is too spread out and that's why the coffee table is difficult.

Can you try this arrangement and post pics? I get that you'll want to maintain the VIEW but the second sofa will be far enough toward the middle of the room to make that work. The two sofas will be facing each other and framing the fireplace with chairs on the end facing FP.

A large glass or Lucite coffee table will work. Keep about 18 inches of space between each sofa and the edge of the coffee table.

End tables that aren't part of a matching set with the coffee table. Two end tables don't even need to match each other. These are just for ideas. You may want to think about tables large enough to hold a lamp and make sure they're just about the same height as the arms of your sofa.

I have a plant on the other corner of the room - the sofas (unfortunately) are slightly different sizes so with the striped rug they looked really bad (since they didn't match up symmetrically). Poor purchase decision on my part - I love my rug so that isn't going anywhere...I like the idea of not matching tables. Thanks

I think the orientation of the couches is ok, but you need to pull all the furniture forward so that front feet of all are on the rug and you could imagine carrying on a conversation with the furthest seat. That should make it easier to place a coffee table in front of the couch that's facing the TV, and you already have an end table for the other couch and a table to go behind the two chairs (which are now partly in front of the doors). You can put a sofa table behind the couch against the wall, if need be.

You're brave to have white sofas! The coffee table shown is Lucite not glass so unbreakable(?)

Lol - the sofas are an oatmeal color but, yes, brave and scared! They are Ethan Allen and protected (husband already spilled red wine and it came right out!)

Nice crosscut (called "cookies" or "round") slabs for the end tables, I'm thinking Indian Rosewood or monkey pod. Angelim Pedra for a center coffee table, the brown of the Rosewood would look nice with the subtle reddish brown of the Angelim Pedra. They sell tons of slabs here. They also sell the hairpin (Stainless or regular steel) legs.

This is a massive Angelim Pedra conference table, yours would obviously be much smaller.

Do you have window coverings for all that glass? If not, consider light filtering roll-up shades. They come in many densities to filter the sun without losing the view for the time of day when you NEED to reduce the glare. I have almost forty feet of windows facing south-southwest in SoCal and those shades have been the perfect solution for the glare problem. (Mine are from Hunter-Douglas through COSTCO. Other companies will have them, too. This is not an ad...I am a homeowner.).

Felizlady - great minds think alike. I just has solar shades installed last week and also woven roman shades for some of the windows. Even solar shades on the little windows up top - I didn't think I'd use them but already have!

What a lovely room! I agree with the others that you need to pull everything in closer and off the walls. Maybe add a sofa table behind the sofa that sits perpendicular to the fireplace? And do you like the idea of a tree round end table? I think that would be a cool accent in this room.

Leelee posted two photos of tables, the second one is what I meant. Not sure what the actual name is, but I thought it would look great in this room.

I have to play around with furniture and explore options to be sure. Simply looking at the photos I think a sofa table there would look good if you pulled the sofa far enough into the room. But what is on the other side of the wall? I guess that would make the difference.

Being as the coastal vibe is here I see something more as this... you may think it's a bit rustic, but it's not reclaimed and so on so tossing it out as the room is large enough to handle.

Another option which is a beautiful table is the very large round in zinc from Restoration Hardware, it's all iron and so beautiful.. comes in a dark metal and a zinc tone.

Thanks - the other side of the half wall is the hallway and stairs. I really like the big tables (Porter) and just needed some reinforcement that they won't be too bulky/heavy for the space. Where are the first ones from?

You can try wood and glass combo - couple tables for suggestions. First is rustic&modern styles in one, can be found interesting. Also, One more for wood&metal combo.

I love your design ideas. I think you should go with a wooden table with maybe plank boards to make the look more casual and less rustic. You could also find a similar table with black metal legs.

Are you sure you can't try the sofas facing each other? Even if they're slightly different in size use a larger end table with the smaller one to balance out the difference. Or put a throw on one to divert attention. Your room looks like it's made for that layout. I swear I can't see a bit of difference in the sofas even knowing they're not identical.

When you get tables the sofas aren't going to stand out so much.
