Hi. I've never posted on this forum before and hope someone can answer my question. I am having a custom door built for a new home. I have used the person making the door for a previous project and really like him. However, he proceeded to all but finish the door without me signing off on the design and it's not exactly what I want. I'm so disappointed. He is trying to find ways to make it right but I'm thinking we need to start from scratch. I would like to offer to pay for the materials but want to be sure I get a fair and honest quote. Can someone tell me what it would normally cost for enough spanish cedar for a 3' x 7' door, 1 3/4" thick, with four raised panels? Just a ballpark will work. I live in the mid-Atlantic region.
