current guidance is not to go sectional. they tend to be too big, force your room into one direction, not as roomy etc. how many do you normally seat, do you need two sofas? in the mean time, i vote we move the tv.

I would get rid of the sectional and replace with sofas or sofa and chair combination. I'm not sure what arrangement would be best. Perhaps some pros could provide some advice? What are the dimensions of the room?

Thanks for the responses :) I'm kinda leaning away from the sectional as well. My husband is very adamant about the tv placement, I however, would be open to moving it.

Get 2 sofas and then place them on a beautiful rug facing each other. After you decide on the sofas, think about replacing the curtains and then buy the rug last to finish off the room.

I know my pictures don't offer the best perspective of the space so I drew a blue print with the dimensions of the space. Roughly 14' by 16'

You can kind of see from the pictures in my original post the my sectional is not up against the wall, we have a walk through space with a sofa table.

What I'm struggling with is if I get a sofa set, where do I place them. Of my 4 walls, 1 is a large window that I would prefer not to cover, and another is a half wall (looks like a takeout window!). So if I place anything along the full walls, where would I put the tv?

Am I overthinking this?

I am thinking you put one sofa along 16' wall, put second across from it. place tv on 14' wall. the 2 chairs in front of windows?

oh but do you need 2 sofas? a sofa and 2 chairs won't do it?

B Kol, I've drawn up a rough plan for how you can arrange your furniture. I think you will have enough seating and the TV will be placed in a more natural and lower sight line for viewing.
