All tile has flaws. If you are looking for something that is perfect you are not going to find it. Glass is a great idea for a back splash. The glass you picked I think has a white coating on the back. Which is a plus. A lot of glass does not come like that and you can see where the installer may have missed with the setting materials when installed. Glass is very hard to cut and it does chip. So you know now some cuts may be chipped depending on the type of blade used in the wet saw. I think you picked a nice glass for the back splash and it is reasonably priced.

Hi Neilcon4, Glass is a beautiful backsplash material. It bounces light around in a room, and can be a more contemporary version of the classic ceramic subway tile. Side by side you can tell that some glass tiles are finer than others. I'm not sure where you're located, but in the NY Metro area you'd be able to find this color at many sources in order to compare quality and price. One other thing to consider with glass is that it is more challenging for a contractor to cut precisely. You should plan on ordering at least 20% more than you "need" in order to account for waste and cutting issues. Good luck with your project!

To be honest that amount of abuse a backsplash takes is minimal get what you love it will be fine.

So I am down to 2 choices both glass. The colors are pretty light so I don't want to go too dark. The island is a light green (sea salt) so I'm also trying to coordinate to look good with it. Thoughts on my 2 choices below. They are obviously different sizes and those are the only sizes they come in. It's tough to get a good picture. The one on the left sometimes looks gray and sometimes more taupe depending on the light.
