Door hardware throughout house

I would like to replace the hardware on all of my doors as none of it matches. Any suggestions as far as colors? Knobs or handles? My home is a center hall colonial with casual traditional style. Thanks!

Thanks! I really like the oil rubbed bronze - now just selection knobs and levers - would you mix or should it be uniform throughout?

I really love the Schlage page - I guess those are more my style.

Hi -- wow, your username switched to Kitty in the middle of me typing this! -- it's your home, so you can mix and match your door hardware however you please. But, usually, people tend to use similar styles and finish within a certain area -- for example, in the bathroom. Or, upstairs and downstairs can be different. You can mix and match, as long as you know what you're doing and have an overall balance to it. :)

Hi Kitty -- you probably want to search online and look at many manufacturers of door hardware and look at their products. Here are two more Baldwin ORB pieces, more traditional styling --

Hi Kitty, if you have a local door hardware store, consider to take a visit -- it makes a huge difference if you can actually see the real hardware from different angles, touch it, turn it, etc. -- see if the feeling is loose (wiggles), or, rock solid.
Also, ask whether a particular model is solid metal (stainless steel, aluminum, brass, etc.), versus a hollow core, and whether there is a coating (for example, a finish coating on the outside, brass on the inside). :)
    Here's a cross-section of a solid Baldwin piece --

I've seen some beautiful leather covered handles
Not sure what your price bracket is (this is clearly quite top end) - but if there is a top end handle, there is sure to be a mainstream equivalent.

Hi ASV, thanks for that info. Here's the photo from that NYT article. The web link in the article was missing the www at the start... This is their full address --

How about glass knobs? I've always loved them (the house I lived in as a very small child had them). Maybe even vintage glass knobs.

Hi Kitty, Congrats on your new door hardware. Some time later, if you ever do a full remodel of your entire home, you find out it's the same for every single detail ! So many decisions!! :)
