This houzz photo shows a nice soaker tub with a glass enclosure. It's an idea that gives you a beautiful combination in just one space. The glass enclosure may cost $800 or more, but that's certainly less than a separate shower. A nice feature is the recessed shampoo niche on the back shower wall. Could you live happily with something like this?

No, I don't want to step over in to the shower as I age.... I had a congenital hip problem at a young age and hated stepping over in to a tub/shower. I know now as I get older (not that I'm yet a senior citizen, but not too far off:)

I wouldn't want this in a home if it was for sale and I was in my mid 50's I'd think twice.

I'm sorry, Porter, that I misunderstood your question. So you want a shower. It will depend on what size shower you want as to how much space it will take. Do you have a drawing of your bathroom?

No, I don't want a shower... I have a large walk in shower I'm extremely happy with. Thank you. Just commenting on the shower you posted and how people as they get up in age it's not a really great option.
