I think it looks nice. Maybe it seems too much to you because your used to a solid slab door, so it just looks too busy to you.

You definitely want them to have the glass across the top. It's much better than plain doors, especially with garage doors that are up in front. I like what you chose, although I'm wondering if fewer panes in the glass would be more in sync with the house windows. Just a thought, but do get the glass at the top. Paint the doors the color of the siding.

I prefer the door Porter Edun provided. Your house is already dominated by the garages. Why give them more attention?

Huh are you sure the old doors are not available? If so I find that surprising. I like the windows but the other details not so much.

Below are a couple of other options you can look into that I found at Lowes. I think the one you selected looks great! I agree with M E you might just be used to your old door.

prefer the original one posted by the homeowner to any of the subsequent suggestions, although it's possible the mullions/dividers will be removable.

I like function first over looks. I love a garage door with windows. During the day you don't have to turn on lights just to walk into the garage. I would have frosted for security. Looks like your house is mostly grays with some brown stone. My front door is recessed like yours and to draw attention away from the garage doors and to the front door you might want to consider to go with a dark gray or dark brown and add matching stutters on the front window. Dark colors recess an area. Have you thought of a faux wooden door? That would also go pretty with your stone work.

I agree that the windows to the right of your front door could use some character, something to balance out the garage door and stonework. Overall your house looks charming.

Thanks everyone! @janejhumes I tried the "wood" doors first, but I think the cool tones of the house conflict with the warm wood tones.

I'm trying to view this as an opportunity to update the outside of the house a bit; there's a new neighborhood across the street. In my original photo, the doors are white on white, I think it looks gray on the inset so the panels can be seen. The long panels are better than the short ones. Argh...

I like the second one that you just posted, the ones with the wider windows. Paint them to match your siding. I'm not crazy about the brown/wood tones or the carriage styles on your house. I think that it would look like you are trying too hard to update without regard to the home's overall style.

I like the last one you posted but painted the color of the siding.

Any of the more simple doors with your more traditional house will work with the lights/windows across the top in solid panels vs paned.

The second you posted in your last option with the wood door above it or\

being a more traditional home I think longer narrow windows vs. what is above is a preference as it's your home. Yet, the longer more narrow windows as it appears to me looks like it doesn't match the home as well as a traditional door with windows with no panes. Lower, at the top.......

I'm sure the door people will show you examples.

all in all, I think I lost my thought... I'm babysitting... the less long windows with no grids work better with your home as the longer appear more MCM ...

You need to get what makes you happy though and again, good luck.... please let us know your decision and a photo when you get them and they are the color you seek.
