Is your goal to keep a calm, neutral space? If so, go with another white, beige, or even a pale green or blue. If you want a pop of color, the sky is basically the limit.

This is not the answer you expected, but consider buying a white quilt. Then add 3 euro shams in a color/pattern you like. Add a colored throw, folded and placed across the foot of the bed. Add additional pillows if you want. The reason for the white quilt is that you can easily change the pillows and the throw according to your whim. A good white quilt can be washed and kept for years. I like the Bed Bath & Beyond Dune quilts which come in several colors, including white.

I just purchased this duvet cover for our guest room. I have the comforter folded at bottom of the bed with white matelasse coverlet and shams. Drapes and bedskirt will be a similar blue/green shade buffalo plaid.
