I now the picture is dark, but I wanted to get this posted. The quilt is longer than in the pic, as I made it long enough to go over the pillow and tuck. This is for my DD and it's full size. I'm not looking forward to quilting it on my machine, but, oh well. I'm thinking just sewing in each black strip (can't think what they are called, LOL) and maybe diagonally through the big and medium size blocks. Not sure what I'll do with the smaller ones. Would you sew down the middle of each black strip or in the ditch? I do have decorative stitches on my machine. Would you do something like that down the black?

I really like this. The colors are lovely. I'd sew in the ditch are close to the ditch on the black sashing on either side.

That looks really nice, Bev. The black sashing makes it look like stained glass. Sorry, I can't help you with the quilting part.

Like others, I really like this quilt! As for the quilting, what do you want to emphasize? If it is the blocks, I'd do a wavy line down the black sashing and perhaps a large meander in the large blocks or straight stitch 1/4 to 1/2" from the seam lines, just one stitch to outline the blocks.

No matter, it's going to look great!

Bev, I think your quilt is very pretty. Your daughter will love it. I think a curvy stitch in the black sashing would be good, and I agree that you need something in the large blocks. I've used these curved lines in a quilt once, and I really liked the way they looked. They are easy to do on a DSM with a walking foot.

Thanks, everyone. I'm going to take a break and make her pillow cases, including a body pillow, so I'm sure to have big enough pieces before I cut the backing.
