Looks like it could be potato scab

http://vegetablemdonline.ppath.cornell.edu/factsheets/Potato_Scab.htm

I wondered.. they are almost like tiny cracks.. some tiny bumps and a few spots were a touch soft and brown right under the skin.. but cut it in half and it's lovely

Signs of both scab and possibly wire worm damage too.

Dave

thanks for the help.. the skin is thin.. should I leave them for a week or so or should I pull them... will the damage get worse If I leave them?

Appreciate the help... my 7 year old has been waiting to see his potatoes!
