We put the like-new IKEA kitchen our sellers installed shortly before resale on Craigslist. We priced it at 800 (it's the cheapest IKEA model and although looked new wasn't..they used it for some time)

It was so popular DH said "you know what..let's keep it put it in the garage". Lol. Which we did

But we didn't put for sale cabinets only-we put kitchen as the whole in there..Granite, sink...all of it.

We reused granite(what we could reuse), and kept their fridge..the rest we sold on Craigslist, very fast.

Here it's only cabinets. But new. And custom made so must be good quality.

But custom made for their space not yours.

So whatever they have in mind with their price-might or might not be applicable to you. 5K is a good deal only if you're able to use them all, and have a good layout. I've no idea whether it's your case or not.

You also need an installer..unless you can install yourself(then you need time)

I don't know programs..I usually try to draw things myself, of course it's not as advanced, enough for a general idea only

I hope though others will know about right software to do that, etc

But I'd start with drawing..something basic at first..your space, measurements, etc..5K is still a lot of money.

Well, first I'm no expert, so take anything I say with a large dose of salt BUT though I do think they are beautiful cabinets, unless you know exactly what you need it seems like you'd be running the risk of spending way more than you need to. Even if these are worth twice what she's asking for them, if you can't use most of it then you won't have gotten much of a deal. I guess I'd suggest starting with your current layout (if you like it) measure your cabinets and compare it to what she's selling. That's where I'd start anyway. Hopefully someone more experienced can give you some more technical advice. Good luck!

Draw out your layout and plan the layout of your kitchen. Figure what size cabinets you need in the space and then compare with what she's selling. They listed out every single cabinet size.

You are doing this for re-sale, so it's important to understand what the market is expecting for your type of house. These are beautiful, very traditional looking cabinets. In general, no one is going to pay you more for the things that make these cabinets special - the inset, the glazing, the decorative trims. But you will get dinged if the layout of the kitchen is poor b/c you're trying to put a square peg into a round hole. My guess is that by the time you deal with moving them, installing them, adjusting them to fit your kitchen and buying the appliances/fixtures to match you won't end up any better off (and perhaps worse) than just installing something from scratch. For instance I see that the sink base is very wide - if you need a very wide sink to fit it will cost way more than a more standard sink. As mama-goose mentioned, you'll need a separate cooktop and wall oven vs. a range - that difference alone is likely over $1k.

If this were your long term house, and this was a way to get beautiful cabinets of your dreams for a modest price and could live w/the resulting layout quirks I'd say go for it, but for a short-term resale I don't think it makes sense.

Not considering whether they even fit your kitchen, but unless this is the type of cabinet that people like in your area and that go with your style of house, I'd skip.

They give pretty good basic sizes....hire a KD to see if they can fit them in your space. I didn this once for someone. Was this a display model or coming from a house? I would guess those coming in at least $25-35,000 brand new from a high end cabinet line! GREAT deal!

Beautiful cabinets. If I could make them work, I would definitely try.

They list who made them in the Craigslist ad. If you need an additional cabinet or two to make it all work, perhaps you could order in the same specs. They must have it on record. I think for the price and quality (perceived from the pics), this is a pretty good score. But as others said, only if you can make it work without a lot of fussing.

Another way you can see if the cabinets might work in your kitchen is map out your kitchen in excel and draw out the cabinet boxes. Then you can move the shapes around and see what works, what cabinet you'd need to buy, etc

You could probably do the same by drawing it out on paper and cutting out cabinet size shapes.
