Hi everyone! We're painting the banister and foot steps for the staircase/entry in the picture attached. We're then adding the gray and charcoal patterned carpet also pictured as a runner. My designer wants to paint the stairs black but I'm nervous and would maybe rather a very dark chocolate brown. We can't restain them to the wood color of the stairs because there's a 100 years of paint on the them (it's a very old house). So what do you think? Black and make a statement or chocolate brown and keep it safe? Thanks!!!
