Whatever happens, the floor lamp may need to go. The proportion is way off. I like the idea of art on the sides. Remember- although you're going to want to keep the height of the cabinet in mind, you don't need to fill very high spaces. And I love the pic above the fireplace. Not so much the candlesticks. They seem out of place.

I can't change furniture around, the third wall has a media cabinet and TV. I have ordered end tables and need new table lamps, I know.

Such a pretty space. Grain of salt time- is it possible to paint/stain the cabinet- something to complement the "mood" of the other side? This could all be lighting and pics that don't always give a clear view on screens. But I keep thinking- is it too "light" for the rest of the space? Pretty cool home, though!

I would denude the top of the bookcase of ornamentation. If you find the need to have something up there, make it a single, quite large object of very definite shape. I thought first of course of plants on either side, but as you have that on the opposite wall, I suggest a pair of paintings to your taste. Keep the visual interest to the area you sit and stand in -- there is no need to try to reach up to the ceiling. Space is beautiful too.
