Yep, sage green would not be an effective choice for you home. You could use sage green as an accent for shutters and doors.

HI -- Looks like you are in the Okanagan where there is a lot of rich greens in the landscaping . How about a grey blue or even a navy with cream trims . I think I would do a white with charcoal trims would be stunning .

emmarene, I have tried the visualizers and for me the colours I picked and the picture didn't even look the same? I really don't like that green and the taupe does tie in with the rocks. I was really trying not to go beige or grey and neighbours on both sides have white houses. Can't go to dark as the sun is brutal for fading.......

My options are few it seems....

Cat-is this DIY, or are you hiring it out? Either way, somebody should bring you nice, big boards with the paint applied, so that you can try out the color. Various places, lighting etc. so you can see better what it would actually look like on your house.

When choosing my stucco color (I have integral color, La Habra) I was always surprised at how different the colors looked, on a board vs sample. Really helped me make a good decision, customized to our home site.

EDIT: I'm seeing a warmer color for your home, based on beautiful rich greens in the landscape and what you see in the rock.

Cat- a funny, quick story: One day, I was outside of the build struggling with all the color choices. I had a very big board, on lot, with all the considerations. Stucco choice was done- worked with a true "stucco whisperer" who gave me a customized color- and a lot of extra bags of the mud, for any eventual need for a fix.

Paint was killing me. How many gray/greens, bright pops of color etc can you look at before you're just blind?

My architect and his daughters drive by. Girls had a soccer tournament in the area, and he took the opportunity to show them what he was working on. The stopped to say "hi". He and I started talking about various progress etc. Meanwhile, his daughter started playing with the boards. And darned if she didn't find a great combination.

Yes. An 8 year old chose the color of my siding. Hey, I take inspiration where I find it. Really nice. People frequently stop by to ask about the color.

I like your current color much better than any of the suggestions. I would freshen up the landscape/hardscape instead. The squarish bushes near the foundation should go for sure. Your house is VERY neat and attractive!

I know the greys are so popular right now but from the pics from the color visualizer they just don't look appealing to me on my house??

I agree with grapefruit! Your current color is great. Just trim up the landscaping and get rid of the squared off bushes which date your home. If you do decide to change, the color posted by katin is wonderful (Benjamin Moore Nantucket Gray). It doesn't really read as a gray at all. It has the warm color tones you have now. You have a lovely home - truly.

Here is the Nantucket Grey. I realize it will look a bit different in real life but gives an idea anyway!

Don't know what it's called, but I like emmarene's second rendering best. Some MCM houses numbers in a silver color, oriented vertically, would update the look. Modern entry lantern. Brightly painted front door. Good luck with your project.

I like the Nantucket Gray! It seems to fit in well with your natural setting and event though it's gray, it reads a bit green. Something different from the expected. Which way are you leaning Cat?

katinparadise, still not sure,I think it's between the same color and maybe the Nantucket Grey? I do like that it is similar to the original.

HI -- My husband and I just came through your neck of the woods yesterday ... very hot weather . We did not see any of the fires that started close to Kelowna yesterday or east of there , the direction we came in from the Kootenay's / Trail . Saw smoke in Rogers Pass and came close to some about 50 feet off the highway but did not see flames . It had clouded over and was raining . Saw the helicopter with the water bucket overhead about near the old Rogers Pass Lodge that is currently being dismantled soon along with lots of road construction . I hope the forest firers do not come close to you . Got home to Calgary and was not stopped or delayed by any forest fires road closings . You are very lucky to live in such a beautiful place . We Love BC and Alberta

The fires have been terrible this year in BC, one started here Thursday, they are still fighting but not affecting us. It's been a very dry year hardly a shower of rain in 2 months!

Nice! Not too trendy, and works great with your landscaping. You did it all without help from an 8 year old, so I'm impressed!

I ended up doing a colour match of a James Hardie Board colour called Timber Bark.

Very nice job. I painted mine this past January and I still love the way it looks when I drive up.
