I think it's fine to mix. they mix metals all the time. ORB and black are so close, you will prob be the only one to notice. Consider doing a brushed gold in your kitchen. it's beautiful w/your colors and plays well w/the matte black.

I’m just seeing your post, what did you decide?!? I’m going through the same predicament. I feel like no one will notice if I have a few ORB fixtures mixed in with the black hardware found in my kitchen.

i want to do bronze windows and black hardware inside the house and my designer didn't want me to..it would be harder to match all the different bronzes i thought...the windows are bronze exterior unfinished pine interiors and we're hoping to be able to color match and paint interior.

should i get bronze cranks or black cranks? any thoughts?

I have basically the same window except black exterior.. I painted the interior black so I chose black hardware. what color are you painting the pine?

wait,,,on the interior you want o match what bronze? you have unfinished pine. so you want to paint the pine a bronze color? like SW Urbane Bronze?

first figure out the paint color. then choose what you think will match best. the ORB should work if you paint the windows this color^

I'm sorry I am not clear. I am ordering windows Bronze Exterior and unfinished pine interior because it's $3k cheaper.

I was planning to just stain them a dark stain and buy black window hardware [doors etc. will be black inside the home].

But then I thought maybe I could paint them white or bronze...and was trying to decide the hardware I would put on the windows [the cranks for casement windows]. Sorry to be confusing.

If I painted white, I'd get white or bronze I'd get bronze....

I think I have to order now before I know what will color match.

you ordered pine. pine doesn't take a stain, a dark stain, very well. you'd be better off painting them. I've done a few of them too. I did one in black and a few of the others I stained, but they were Fir.

Paint them. easier too. If you want them to look like dark color, paint them the Urbane bronze, or a nice black.

if you stain, you'll have to apply a clear coat protectant anyway, so I can't see how it would be more upkeep. Use a good wood trim enamel paint (I like Advance) and it should be fine.

but if you want to stain, make sure to use a pre-stain conditioner on the wood first. apply stain, (try a dark walnut or espresso color) and see how you like it. You could always paint over it if you don't like it

I think it will be fine to mix the bronze and black fixtures. I have an semi-open kitchen and dining room with a nook in the kitchen. The dining room chandelier is bronze and the kitchen pendant over the nook table is black. My kitchen cabinet hardware is bronze. No one can tell the difference between the black and bronze.

I had the same predicament with my chandelier being ORB and my others were black. It was a noticeable difference so I spray painted my chandelier black and it was perfect!

I have a beautiful orb fixture over my garden tub, but the only fixtures that I really like for both vanities are black. What shall I do?

I am redoing my bathroom. The faucet and cabinet handles are oil rubbed bronze. I absolutely fell in love with this lighting fixture which is black with a stripe of brushed gold. Opinions please if this metal combination will work

I purchased the matte black fixtures. I’m thinking of very lightly brushing some oil bronze paint on them in spots.
