Agree with anaisava. I would also change some of those pillow covers to add color and spice the room up.

Agree on rug and artwork. Remove some pillows... Consider how guests can actually seat themselves. I count 6 family photos... some are arranged like the pillows and it's too much repetition... relocate these photos to a single wall in a nice arrangement. HTH.

Agree that art work should replace the mirror. An area rug would look good and maybe a couple of items added to your coffee table.

Thanks for the ideas, I was thinking about the area rug on the carpet, but I didn't think it would look right. I will surely try that out and get some art work. I got pictures on the opposite wall arranged nicely; here is a picture of the arrangment.
