I returned the low round stool and am trying this now
when you walk in the door basically this is what you see
And to the left is this shelf with picture on wall
To the right is the living room

NP. Try both options (chair with side table and the wooden table you want to paint). The beauty about shopping is whatever you don't like you can always return.

Hi Cheryl! It's a lovely chair however I think table and vase over shadows it. Do you have a taller chair and somewhat bulkier chair? your staircase and entryway is so grand the perfect chair would make the space pop. Here are a couple pictures. I am a huge fan of Restoration Hardware and I've seen a similar chair like their Versailles at Home goods. but of course all HomeGoods are different. I would say replace the black chair with a larger chair and change the positioning of the end table and chair. Also omit the vase since you already have a similar piece along the stairway alcove.

Good morning! I don't think it matters what color. the chair itself would make a statement. However if you want black, go for it! Keep your side table I love the mirror and gold tone in it.

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm assuming you're in Canada. you are definitely going in the right direction and this look works. if you do a pillow may I suggest a lumber pillow, something furry for texture. I also suggestion chairs with arms. The chair you have posted does not pair with the side table. I would also try a chair with arms for a bulkier look also the surface of the side table should be equal or just below the height of the arms of the chair (I should have mentioned that before because I love the side table, great find). I posted some pictures. may I suggest a high back chair with arms if you do a Google search. all of the chairs posted are at least 41" high. feel free to go higher. Try overstock.com or even Houzz as well. the photos below are from Houzz. the linen is nice too but not as bulky. you have such a grand staircase, the chair and side table should make the same statement. it's not problem at all. I think we're all learning and here to help each other to get different design input.

SO I ordered a classic wing back chair and was able to customize it... so of course I picked
Beautiful black velvet and removed the studs
And darkened the legs
Who knew? Lazyboy AND it reclines
Maybe I'll read a book in the foyer
No picture as it will take a couple of months to make

Look I even bought a fab pillow like u said
BUT that chair caused a little domino affect to my tv room
Furnitureso I bought new comfy recliners and swivel
And now my darn kitchen table is looking a tad tired
It's so much easier matching shoes to an outfit
Now I'm looking at tables

I would eliminate the vase on the stairs and put a sculpture. Plants upon entry are nice.

Also, the vase does nothing for the stairs. A contrasting colored sculpture would perk it up.

Stair's vase is tall and showy a bit / table flowers are meant for the seated one at floor level.... inviting.
