My kitchen is currently White Oak in a clear finish. We want to do the adjacent hallway/entryway/living room in wood (it's currently covered in old, yucky carpeting). Really don't want white oak throughout the house, but don't know if it would look weird to have something different. As you can see in the photos, all these areas are visually connected.
