5V METAL ROOF...

Having a 5 V metal roof installed... such a difficult choice. Going with Galvalume bc I have ready it holds up better than just Galvanized... so my concern is that its going to lose its look quick.. yes, it lasts but will it look awful bf it needs replaced? We in in SWFL so thought metal would be a good choice for a new roof since ours only lasted 12 years. Can the luster of a metal roof be maintained?

I have the 5v as well, but got it in a color with a sealant on it. I live in a forest and metal roofs are the only way to go in case of fires. If the galvanized look starts getting dull, I have seen people use a silver paint on barn roofs and it looks pretty good and probably lengthens the life of the roof. There are also rubberized coatings that you can get in white that have a 50 year guarantee.

Down here with the sun color seem to do the worst so went with mill finish... I am okay if it dulls I can always paint it in the future if I feel it needs it... thank you for your input!!
