I love your cabinets. I've had travertine backsplash for 10 years. It's beautiful and it's maintenance free. We're updating our cabinets to white and I'm torn because I love my backsplash!! Refacing won't give me all the options I need. Our house cost about the same amount...so no worries. The product you shared looks more like a rock stone material. With cooking, I would think about staining.

I prefer the bottom larger sample. I feel like the smaller more porous stone would collect dust and grease and be hard to clean. Just be sure to seal really well.

I would not like either one of those for kitchen backsplash. all those nooks and crannies for dust and grease,,,,no thanks. I currently have a honed type of travertine/limestone, and while it's not a big deal to care for, because it's flat it's simple. the one you have chosen is not. and if you're paying that much for it, even worse. Can you find something else?

if you really want the travertine, then do the smooth tiles. these are inexpensive as well.
