Repaint a more complex color and change the garage doors to wood.

Paint the exterior a diffrent colour. Either a neutral or a bold colour! Change the garage doors or paint them. Add a opulent of plants near the garage doors an around the path!

I agree with the posts above. Another place to add "character" is black iron hardware on the garage doors. Take a look at houzz "photos" type in: "garage doors" you will see some doors with personality!

BTW, you might take and post a few "up-close" photos so we can "ponder" the Garage connection to the house.

Personally, I think it works better to paint the corner boards the same color as the siding, rather than having them match the trim. In this particular case, I think it will help to integrate this house.

Yes I agree with both posts above. The more contrast between "body color" and "trim color" the need to paint the corner trim same color as the body to "integrate" the overall look. Right now the corner trim looks like "pinstripe" accent.

Would you be willing to remove the large round shrub and the very tall evergreen tree in the center of the house. They stop the visual flow the of the house and yard. Limb up the tree between the house and garage. Now post another photo that shows the current area of concern so we can make helpful suggestions.

are the cornerboards the black part? should that be blue instead? if was willing to paint house what color?

On the middle tall two story the corner boards are the white trim going up the two outside corners. Also, if this was my home I would remove the shutters! They are not the right size and it would simplify the color options.

should the shutters be larger? feel it would be bare without them. what baout on the "eaves"(?) they have a black line that seems to outl ine them.. what color should they be

Your white, white windows seem to have no trim around them. It is natural to use a white like the windows for trim but as mentioned above, the strong contrast breaks up the trim. If you use an off white to soften the contrast between the trim and body your windows will then jump off the building. If you use a lighter body color to eliminate the strong contrast, the light body color will make your home look even more voluminous. I would suggest trimming the windows and painting all the trim a soft off white. The off white around the windows will soften the harshness of the the white windows and also fill up some of the space on the gables so that the shutters don't seem so small.

Everyone on houzz knows I have "shutter issues"!! For me, shutters need to "look" like they actually work to cover the windows when closed or I tell people to remove them! If you made them the correct size they would be too large! That's why I said remove them! As this thread matures I'm sure we will hear from people that disagree with me, so ignore my weirdness! Do what you feel is right! ALWAYS!

Regarding the evergreen bush I always default to the landscape experts for their input/advice. For me I like "simple" larger trees and low color. I think if you want to "tie" things together it might help to remove rather than add? IDK, i will go away now...Lets hear from the experts!

Dara, not to be a bother, but you have posted this twice, that I have seen, and you are asking for a totally different kind of feedback this time than your other post. I understand that you are looking for feedback on a home purchase, that is fine. As Houzzers, like Here and KPOBAI, I often see their postings, giving a lot of sage professional advice, as I endeavor to do myself. May I suggest that one post, appropriately worded, will offer you a better cross section of advice, than 2 or more different posts seeking much different ends?
