paint color

We're gutting and redoing our small home. our living room, kitchen, dining room, and small sunroom (breakfast nook) will be made into one room. We're going to put up vertical shiplap-look panelling. I want to pInt it a white but I have no idea which one. The windows in the living room face south-west (mostly south). The dining room portion window faces north, and the sunroom portion windows face east, south, and south- west (5 windows there). All the colour rules talk about choosing colour based on exposure. What do you do is you have a lot of exposures? BTW, my LR furniture is a medium brown (which I detest but can't replace or recover---they're reclining sofas). I love blue but don't like blue and brown together.

My main room is South/North/East and I used Revere Pewter and it is perfect.

Paint all your trim B.M Super White and one the brown furniture you had add throw pillows with lots of white.

Thanks, Judy! I tend to get tired of colors after a while. We painted the living area of our last house Revere Pewter. It is a lovely color, but we lived with it for 4 years. I think that's my limit for living with a color. However, I appreciate you giving me your advice!

You could use Half Moon Crest from Benjamin Moore. Hard to get tired of that color because it changes color all day long. Sometimes Gray, sometimes gray blue, sometimes gray green, and sometimes gray violet but alway beautiful.

Thanks. Sounds like a nice colour. Any suggestion for trim colour?

White, white dove or chantilly lace but I'm a big believer in using your trim color to pull the rooms together and to do that trim color needs to be the same from room to room at least on the baseboards, doors and trim. It's possible to take liberties with the window trim and window color and crown molding. Or on a high ceiling to create depth with a different colored ceiling, this can especially work while if you have a crown molding to break the colors apart.

Decorators white works very well with Half Moon Crest also.

We're having to gut and redo our whole house so, except for our brown living room furniture, we have a clear color slate. Would Simply White work with your color suggestion (can't remember the name off hand)?

Congratulations on the award! I'm sure you'd do a wonderful job, but we live in the interior of British Columbia, Canada. A little far to go for work!
