Banquette pulls placement VS. kitchen pulls?

Hi everyone

We are building a banquette to match our kitchen cabinets, and it will be situated in the same room as our kitchen, not right next to the kitchen cabinetry but within a few feet (think eat-in kitchen basically). Right now, we have brass cup pulls for all drawers in the kitchen, and brass knobs for any cabinets.

The issue: the banquette doors (x3) will open from the bottom and swing upwards. I was initially thinking the cup pulls make most sense, but in order to function properly they would have to be at the bottom of the banquette door- not the top, which is where ALL the cup pulls obviously are on the kitchen cabinets. A knob doesn't make sense IMO. The door wouldn't function as a swing up with the pull at the top, like the rest of the drawers in the kitchen.

Do I keep the pulls consistent and place them at the bottom due to the functionality of the banquette? Or do I rethink this entirely?

are you sure you want doors that close to the ground to swing upward? you're going to have to practically lie on the floor to see what's inside them!

also, I don't think they have to match in either style or placement -- in fact, you might want them to blend in more, since it's more a piece of furniture to the eye.

My thinking for having them swing upwards is that if we have them swing open/down (like the pulls are at the top, and the top pulls open) they are more likely to be opened accidentally by people sitting there, and the pulls will be more in the way of the back of your knees)

What are you going to use these cabinets for , I would not bother at all with them . If for some once a year stuff i like the seat to lift up for that storage a lot easier to access.

I have to agree with ACM--swinging up is bad. Why not hinged to the side?

Regardless, cup pulls would be nicer than other pulls since they won't snag the seated people. If you get good quality hinges, you can still stick them more in the middle instead of at the bottom. Also look into recessed pulls which are designed for just this sort of thing. They don't need to be the same as on the cabinets, but the same metal would be nice. (And you can put them down low!)
