This is my mother's home, my childhood home. I am not living here again taking care of my very ill mother.
Mom's insurance company made her get some things fixed on her home. The trees have been trimmed, house painted and the new front porch is being poured any day now, with a new roof in a few weeks.

The house had ornate wrought iron posts, but I'm thinking of updating with square posts, but not sure where to put them. I don't want to block the front window, but also want symmetry..... help...

The paint color is SW Pavestone with SW Alabaster trim. I'm thinking of black shutters and a watery/aqua/grey color for the door.

Does anyone have any guidance for the roof shingles color? I have thought about Tamko Thunderstorm Grey, but worried it will be too dark?
