Kitchen peninsula lighting

Hi, we are redmodeling our kitchen. I would like to know what lighting would look good on the peninsula when ceiling is not too high. Our ceiling is only 90 inch. I would like to know if pendant lights are good and if one or two is better or none. (the left side opening in pic, remodeling in progress). Please advise. Thanks!
