Agreed with above. I would never put laundry in a master closet if I could help it. It's too humid, loud, plus how inconvenient for your kids or guests when they need to use it.

The laundry would be separated from the master closet by a door....so technically not in the same exact space. I was just thinking of breaking up the closet space and using the smaller portion for the washer/dryer.

Agree with felizlady and Sina -- adding a door to the Master closet will essentially accomplish the same thing (as closing off part of your closet), and you won't lose closet space! Plus, that also leaves the laundry close to the mud room for all of those dirty play clothes!

Yeah I really like the idea of the door ion the master closet’s outside wall! It will be good for us to toss our shoes in the closet when we come home as well. That is a nice shortcut!

Trust me, you'll want the laundry right where it is, next to the mudroom area so that dirty kids coming in from soccer practice can literally march right into the laundry, strip off, and not track dirt into the house. You're welcome. :-D

If you want a larger, walk-in pantry, steal some space from the adjacent master closet.
