The clean washer cycle does not spin after it is finished. So the water at the bottom may just be residual. Also, cleaning the pump trap on this machine is a piece of cake! After 15 years, there is bound to be something in the pump. If you can fix it yourself it will only cost time!

I misstated my issue; there is small amount of water leaking from the bottom of the machine. It may be a hose (they are original) or it may be something more serious. The rear bearings have been a little noisy but not horrific. I'll be looking at this tonight.

I've stated this elsewhere regarding steam. Original Duets that offered Sanitize temp level, heated the wash water to 153-155. I honestly think steam was something developed to use less energy to get to the higher temperatures in the wash drum.

Took the front panel off. No leak from the main components. Seems the vent hole in the door may be the culprit. There is evidence of a small amount of water over a bit of time. Not a major problem.

Miele is about the same size at Bosch, so if Bosch is too small, Miele is not likely to work either. That said...

Miele can be bought remotely--you can just call any dealer even one across the country and they can place the order. Miele does the delivery, and optionally installation (must have Miele do installation to up the warranty from 1 to 2 years).

I like the small size of the Miele. I just run a load almost every day. If I'm going to be out, I set the timer so that it will be done just around the time I expect to be back.
