Lower cabinets

Are the cabinets functional, and do they keep out water and dirt? What type of wood is used?

Hi rockhill324, The inside of the cabinets are part of the concrete work and the teak boards were used for the "cabinet" doors as well as cladding on the side and front of the concrete. We have not experienced water inside the cabinets because the doors essentially float in front of the cabinet edge...See attached image.
