Me again. I actually think 3 lights would work just fine for your bathroom.

I have a 72" vanity with two 30" sinks and 12" drawer bank. I put in two 30" wide mirrors and left 12" in between. I added a tray with a vase and foliage and soap dispenser in between to break it up. I think it looks fine.

I think the lighted mirrors (and medicine cabinets) not only function better for facial lighting, they also look more clean and modern. In addition, I only see them becoming more popular as time goes on, so you'll likely have a slight boost in property value if by the time you sell your house they are in high demand or considered standard. It used to be the over mirror lighting was standard but technology changes everything.

btw, architects do usually know what they are talking about in terms of aesthetics, so perhaps you could compromise with a 60" lighted medicine cabinet and avoid the gap but keep your lighting.

I hate those sinks. There is hundreds of that garbage being sold on craigslist.

IMO a 60” vanity with 2 sinks leaves too small an area for counter I do however agree with the architect about the larger medicine cabinet either way.BTW if your over the mirror lighting is really good it does not cast shadows. I use a light fixture with 2 x 150 watt halogens in it for bathrooms and there are no shadows
