Hello! If you plan to place a rectangular table longways parallelling the 15'11" side, I wouldn't go longer than a 72"-80" table. Other factors to consider are whether it's an open or enclosed room and whether you plan to place other pieces of furniture, such as a sideboard, in the room.. Just be sure that there is at least a 24" clearance behind the chairs while they are in use so that others have enough room to get up and walk around the table with ease ...

Thank you! I was not going to add anything else because I want to try for a bigger table with more seats. It is open area, however the room is not as large as I had anticipated.

My dining room is 11x14, and I have a round table that extends to oval and seats lots. I also have a buffet on one end. I can seat 10-12 if I extend it because we have a wide cased opening that relieves some of the congestion, but it’s not ideal. I would get a rectangle that seats six, but has a leaf or two for those occasions you need more. If you have no other furniture 10 should fit comfortably.

For width, no wider than 48”, 42” would be better. My table is 54” and it is too wide for my 11’ width.
