Nice floors you got there and the cabinet what finish did you use there?

Thanks, I just used straight white paint from Lowe's. The kind with primer in it. But I primed them first 3 times anyway.

Beautiful work. My husband and I want to refinish our cabinets. My vote is to paint them white (like you did). His vote is to stain them darker. He doesn't like the idea of painted cabinets because he thinks they will look painted and not have a smooth white finish like your new cabinets have. Please tell me your process :) did you sand/strip the wood 1st? What kind of paint did you use? And what was your application (spray/brush)? Thanks :)

I was worried about that too and you can still see the texture of the wood when you look closely, but it's fine. I first stripped them with KrudKutter spray and cleaned them really well. Then I sanded them with a small handheld power sander. Wiped them again. then I used primer, whatever they told me to use at Lowe's, Zinser maybe? 2 or 3 times I can't remember, both sides of course. then I painted them with white paint, 2 or 3 coats again, can't remember exactly. I just kept going until I was satisfied. I used a brush to get the small crevices and a small foam roller to give them a smoother finish. We also put caulk in the seam between the flat panel and the frame then painted that white too. That really helped to smooth out the look.
I think dark stain would be nice though too. I was concerned about the room being too dark. The black appliances were not being replaced and dark against black seemed a bit too much. good luck!

I think the texture of painted wood can be a good thing sometimes, it makes them look real. Nice job.
