Need to make a siding decision! Help appreciated!

I have been having trouble making a final decision on siding color. We plan to go with LP smartside. I have a few samples, and they will also color match a custom color. There is an existing brick ledge from a previous home on this site. To cover that, we will be using a locally quarried limestone on retainer walls, the exposed basement end, and up to threshold height all around the home. There will also be stone pillars supporting the front entryway. The stone is creamy, with hints of gray and tan. Windows are bronze. Attached below is the house now, the stone and samples, and an inspiration photo, though their stone has more variation than ours will. Also, the empty holes in the front of our house get triple awning windows on each side. They just didn’t get that far today! Thanks in advance for your help!

      Yes, can get in smooth also, but that was the only samples they had available. Can also order in a custom color, if I have a swatch to send.

      I like the one in the middle. The one on the right is nice with your stone, but I'm not sure I like it with your windows. I don't like the pinkish one on the lower left.

      Thanks, all! I did consult the designer for a custom color option, and she recommended the one on the left. Glad I’m not the only one who didn’t like it! Mark, this house sits far off the road, on a hill. I need to pick a color soon, because people who see it in the distance really do think the Zip green IS the house color! :)

      Does the "smartside" have a smooth side? If so, use it. That "look of real wood" stuff just catches dirt and, of course, doesn't look like wood.

      I like when houses are constructed with Owens Corning rigid insulation on the exterior (think pink). I currently have a client with a Pepto Bismol pink cottage, and has been pink for the past 80 years; a beautiful Art Deco home.

      Yes, the siding does come in smooth, but because apparently I would be the only person in our area to order it that way, they have to order a smooth sample 1st. I do think I will prefer it though. I think these samples look like the plastic “wood” on a child’s playground! Mark, my husband is color blind, so he would actually be fine with this green. It looks natural to the surroundings to him!

      The only one of those samples that seems to go with everything is the middle one based on my screen. The left one reminds me of band aids.

      I really appreciate each of you taking the time and thought to consider my choices! After my disappointment with the designer’s pick, I went down the rabbit hole at the local Benjamin Moore store. I sat in the floor in the sunlight near the door, with my window and rocks, looking at various colors. I kept coming back to something sort of “taupe-brown-gray.” I decided to pack up my rocks and go home! I may just go with the one in the middle, in smooth.       Be careful with the smooth. Apparently there have been issues with the smooth. There was a thread on here sometime ago with lpsmartside smooth and a wavy installation. The textured is the one that has been trouble free I believe even if it is not as appealing visually. Correct me if I am wrong folks.

      around here they are using the heck out of that stuff and I think it looks like fiber cement. Our local builders supply sold the certainteed fiber cement exclusively and after the fly ash debacle stopped selling fc altogether and are loving the lp.

      No way I would make a decision based on those small samples. See if you can get bigger samples or if you can get addresses.

      based on what you have I like the middle one too.

      Thanks, ILoveRed! I have seen the middle color locally. It’s hard to visualize for my own home, because every place I’ve seen it has been in combination with 2-3 other contrasting colors and finishes, with white or clay windows, and large contrasting window trim. (Like most on the Diamond Kote and LP sites.) I think they did use it on part of the new fire station in town, in the cedar texture. Maybe I will take my window and rocks by there next! :)

      Yes, but as per usual on a construction project, the rock guy was held up by rain, so the siding guys are held up from that, and will have to work me back in. They’re scheduled to start within the next couple of weeks.

      Jackie same here! It some photos terra bronze looks very brown & in others it looks Greige. Such a hard choice!

      I don't mean to alarm you needlessly, but would there happen to be a piece of metal flashing behind the first piece of horizontal siding (and corner trim) and the top of the capstone, where the red arrow is pointing? Many time there is a tiny bit of it is exposed resting on top of the capstone to keep water from getting behind the stone.
