Those Damn Lubbers!!!

I had seen posts on FB about the lubbers for a while now and thought ohhh crap I forgot about them! I was on the look out, but had not seen any, until the other day. DAMN two hatches in different spots and I think they had been there a couple days b/c they seems faster/smarter than the ones last year!

I could not step on them, they seem to find away to stay under foot, but not smooshed!

I got desperate... I grabbed the Fire Ant powder killer stuff.... I think it worked! (1st I grabbed mosquito repellant, but then thought well it is repellant, not killer)

Last year we walked around late winter and found several of the ground holes that the momma laid her eggs in, but totally forgot to do that this year (too cold this year) and I can tell the difference!!!

Im so glad I don't have those. I did many houses and years back. And hated them. I have so many lizards the babies don't stand a chance.

For some reason, I've got bunches and bunches of young un's. I use Sevin spray on them and bought some Nolo bait this year. I'll see, I wasn't as diligent as I have been in last years. I can't even imagine how bad it will be if these survive! I have yet to see a lizard eat one - but then I'm so busy stomping when I see them!

Sweet monkey cheese, could you post a picture of the hole? Did you apply the ant killer to the hole and then water it in? I don't usually see the nest, until I stir them up.

You need more lizards and frogs and birds to keep you lubber pop. Down naturally...bird baths really help keep the garden helpers in your yard.
