It's weird how things like that happens. 2 days ago I planted sweet potato and 2 day something ate them. Have no idea what.

I had daffodils coming up, something ate a 3rd of them down to the ground!

I just thought -- it's probably squirrels. They love tender young shoots. They eat them for the water content, so I guess I'd better start leaving water out for them. Poor little things. It's been so dry, they have to go all the way next door to drink from the pond.

Slugs????

I didn't see any trails, so probably not. Besides, if it was slugs, they would be eating the native violets, and they haven't touched them.

Here slugs eat anything in their path. They love anything freshly planted or sprouting seems like. I had some luck spreading coffee grounds or crushed eggshells to keep them from making my plants their meal of the day.
