Thanks so much, klfische. The current colour is a light taupe, Gauzy White S-W, and we don't like how it is pink sometimes. We are hoping to stay away from the tan colours. I picked up paint chips for Creamy SW, Greek Villa SW, and Cotton White SW. My favourites are Alabaster S-W and Repose Gray S-W so far.

Try Sherwin Williams "Accessible Beige" it's actually right between pale beige and pale gray, "griege" really a wonderful color and almost all furnishings go well with it.

With that view I would do white or Sea Salt .I for one would like to have a bit of info as to your style too.

Your view is gorgeous. Have you sampled all the items in your space? Because if your tiles show pink in the photos and the floors read yellowy orange, it is possible that they will have the same undertones in your space.

What colors for furniture and fabrics are you using the rest of the space? Mix warm (your floors) and cool (grey sofa?) can look fine but you need to be intentional about using patterns and accessories throughout the space that mix warm and cool.

My style is very minimalist and clean, and leaning toward contemporary. But this is my elderly parents' apartment and they have things like brass beds and rosewood Chinese furniture that they will be moving in. Here are the handles I have chosen for the kitchen cabinets, more modern.

I was hoping with white shaker cabinets, white quartz countertops, and white subway tile backsplash I could leave it flexible enough to mix with the furnishings and keep it desirable for future owners.

As the current colour newly painted by the seller is a taupe Gauzy White of Sherwin-Williams I would like to stay away from a similar paint colour because my mother really disliked it and we need to justify the expense of a new paint job on an already new paint job! I need something different. Below is the colour we do not want.

Thank you, d-gw for the insights! The tile does look pink from the company image I posted but when I took it to Sherwin-Williams they used a scanner and came up with Repose Gray as a colour match! In real life it looks mostly grey white. It is Daltile Slate Attache in Meta White,shown below in a company image.

Maybe someone can suggest a warm white which would work for the space? Alabaster SW is a match for the cabinets in the bathrooms and kitchen. Note that there are no windows in the bathroom and the kitchen is deep into the space.

Karen, I'm glad you were able to bring the samples to the new space. They look nice! I mentioned it because there are a surprising amount of posts from people who install new things or paint and are shocked by how their choices actually look after the installation.

Accessible beige was mentioned above, it's a color that works well with warm and cool. It might go too cool in your light but it is worth a try.

Maybe something other than beige. I really do not want tan or beige or taupe.

Karen, it might be that you and your mom dislike the color because you are looking at the rooms without their furniture in it, it might be that you do not have to repaint it. I wouldn't worry about a future owner because they will come in and paint (just as you are suggesting to do now). You might look at Maria Killam's website (mariakillam.com), she's a color expert and she could help you out with choices. Beautiful view! I'm sure your parents will be very happy here.

I think Sea Salt is the best it is light enough to not darken the spaces away from the windows and goes well with all the colors IIMO and is not beige, greige whatever you want to call it.

The tiles are in! They do look a little bit pink! Doh!
