Help picking furniture finish

Help me choose a paint or stain color for our table, chairs and hutch. We have young children so white is not practical for the chairs. I would love to replace the couch and rug. Thanks?

I kind of like the couch and rug! I would swap out the coffee table if keeping the coach and chairs. But. That not what you’re asking. Lol.

As for the table and chairs...I’m going to ignore the living room furniture and focus on the kitchen. If you don’t want a white table top perhaps you could paint the base of the table and the hutch white? And chairs/table top a stained finish?
My next choice is all black, but I’m not sure if that’s the look you are going for. But you can lighten the look with a table runner, chair cushions and flowers etc. OR stain the table and hutch and do the chairs black.
Here’s two example of the wood table and black chairs.
I do like the look of the drapes you have and like them with the coffee table, but not the sofa and rug as you mentioned.

Paint the table white or whitewashed or perhaps a bright color like one of the blues you have as an accent. The style of the table can mesh with the kitchen. Do invest in new chairs though; it can’t cost much to buy 6 new chairs that better match the style of your kitchen. Many finishes can be considered from metal to another wood tone, you’ll know it when you see it. The table and chairs as is take away from the updated and very beautiful kitchen. I could go either way on painting the buffet white or replacing it with a credenza/buffet with storage below.

Use a dark brown paint that more or less matches the dark metal ring on the chandelier above it (not a metallic paint, use a regular semi-gloss enamel). Or use the best white semi-gloss paint available, and plan to touch it up once a year where the kids kick it. A vinyl tablecloth, changed seasonally, will make life with kids easier.

You love color, and so do I. That rug and the dining area art will be your inspiration for the table color. Your kitchen is traditional, but your table doesn't have to be traditional. I would select one of the medium-tone colors in your rug and art for the table color. Your chairs, however, are a little too country for your bright and colorful home. You could buy unfinished (and more traditional) chairs and have them sprayed to match the new table color or, if you are daring, another color in your rug. But even if you choose white chairs to match your kitchen, go colorful with the table.
