Interior RO shelf pulls?

Underneath my main sink in my kitchen and under the sinks in the master bathroom, I have roll out shelves. What I'm looking for is some sort of pull that would attach to the front of the roll out shelf so I wouldn't have to bend down to pull the roll out shelf out from the cabinet.

My question is, does anyone make those and where would I find them? Thanks in advance.

Have you thought about attaching the shelf to the door so that it comes out when you open the door?

Local’s solution makes it a pull out instead of a cabinet with a roll out shelf, and I think it’s an excellent solution.

Bending is good for us! Bend away! I say this as someone with serious breathing difficulties but it's still good for me.

Bend at the hips, not the waist (it is good for you!).

Would these work, provided you have Blum tandem slides? (Blum Tandems are probably overkill for pullouts, but they're so smooth and easy to use that I'd install them anywhere and everywhere something slides out of a cabinet.)

ETA: You'd still end up using your toe to push/activate these.

My vote is toes. You have to bend down to reach whatever you’re accessing. What’s a couple more inches?

    Thank you.

I was hoping for some sort of half moon metal or wood piece that could be attached so I could grab it and pull out the RO.

Um...I've been known to use my toes.

That's fine for now but again I'm thinking of the future when I might not be as agile.

The cabinet and the RO shelves are already installed so I'm a bit late and a dollar short for that solution. I'm regretting that I didn't think of it before but it's too late now.

Yes bending is very good for us. I do it constantly and train with a trainer at the gym 3x a week to stay in shape. However as many of you know, I watched first my Mom and then my Dad wind up not being able to bend. If they did, they would have fallen so I am thinking about the possible future.

That's the part I'm trying to avoid.

I'm planning on getting those baskets for the RO's that have handles on them to make it easier to lift things out. This is our retirement house and we want to be able to live here for as long as possible.

    So not a recessed pull?

No, not a recessed pull. Thank you.

cp, smart thinking : ) Bear with me on this, we've just started demo and I'm exhausted! First, using baskets with handles is an excellent idea. Instead of wood cabinet fronts on your ROTS, how about something with thick comfy bar fronts, so front itself is a pull? You could take it a step further... I can't find an image, so here are two photos that help explain...

So, here is the standard wire basket ROTS... but as yours are wood, change out the fronts with bars...

Photos for uploading · More Info
you could possibly use wide 'bar style' handles but they'd screw in on the bottom of the shelf... or screw in on a low front lip.

This one would be better is at wouldn't catch on clothes..

ETA: They'd most likely need to be longer in 'depth' so they'd sit up higher to more easily reach when installed downward.

You could also use just an aluminum bar that insets into the wood of the ROTS on either side. Best would be a bar that goes up in the middle (similar to the wire shelf above - for now, this might hinder you from pulling the baskets straight out, but I don't see you doing that... ?

Rev a shelf makes a pull-down shelf... wonder if they make a pull up?

If you for any reason could not bend down, you could use a grabber to pull it open with the bar front.

    Hope I made some sense : /

That's exactly what I'm hoping to find 2many but one that is deeper in that it's not so close to the bottom of the cabinet. Am I making sense?

At first. no... LOL! My brain is addled today : ) I think I understand. Your shelf is very low, you need a deeper handle so that it isn't ankle height : )

All I could find (quickly) was this tiny photo (get your magnifying glass out!) and I stuck a handle on the top of the wood ROTS ledge...

Leaving the wood drawer front alone, but putting the bar pull on the top of it. This would raise the handle higher. If you could extend it further (somehow, still making it aesthetically pleasing) that would be better - again, it will inhibit you from pulling anything straight out...

Oh wait! What about a T bar handle, affixed the same way as above?

Photos for uploading · More Info
Surely your contractor could come up with an extension for either?

Do I understand you correctly, or am I all wrong?!

No you are following me exactly! I know my cabinet guy is trying to figure something out and I did send him some pics. For some reason, I thought I had seen a half moon handle that would work. If not, there is a metal fabricator who might be able to make them for me?

cpartist, I showed this to DH this morning after explaining what your were looking for...

Photos for uploading · More Info
and he said that should not be a problem. He's a can-do guy, and has built race cars, airplanes, and re-built old/antique motorcycles... he's got a hydraulic tube bender and can bend up to 1/2" OD (outer diameter) only, having sold much of his equipment (we are also in the process of emptying his hanger). He said you could also go with 90 degree bends which 'anyone can do' (altho he thinks all guys should be able to do what he's done!)

    This is a 90 degree...

Photos for uploading · More Info
He said to look at car shops that fabricate, among other places for bending tubing. You can have any OD you wish (mindful of your front drawer thickness), any length/height, and he said to make sure you look for a heavier ID (inner diameter) for strength if going with aluminum (you can have it chromed/brushed chromed for aesthetics) so it would withstand pulling outwards. I'd make sure the welds for threads are done nicely also. You need to keep in mind the thickness of your drawer front. A quick search of "Tube bending" finds several fabricators online... here's one, here's another... but you should be able to find some custom bike or auto shops locally. You will need someone to weld a thread or some way to attach it to your drawer front - again, DH says that shouldn't be hard with an auto fabricator (example: they must bend thick exhaust pipes for specialty cars).

For what it's worth, I don't like the T Bar idea - one could catch cloths or delicate skin on that. Bended, smooth, would be better, as you already know. Also, DH said with a thick inner diameter (ID), 3/4" to 1/2" OD (outer diameter) should do it for you. Not sure how thick your drawer fronts are. Good luck!

ETA: there are the type of cabinet pulls you mentioned - [Example[(https://www.houzz.com/products/distressed-nickel-rki-half-moon-pull-rkicp3715dn-prvw-vr~20706391), but the projection/height won't really be enough, IMO.
