I’m not sure what is wrong with my echinopsis rhodotricha. I recently had issues getting my greenhouse setup so it was exposed to some low temperatures. It appears to be rot-however I’ve dealt with rot before and this is not mushy, it’s completely hard. It’s roots are growing through the bottom of th pot, and when I first potted it up I had put some rocks around it to stabilize and I’m wondering if they were too close to fleshy plant/too much of the plant was buried... idk! I repotted it to give it’s roots more room to spread and I had already removed the rocks several weeks ago. I noticed it was looking rough around the base some time ago... I’m not sure what the culprit is and whether I should leave it alone in hopes it will pull through or try to cut/behead above where the discoloration starts, let callous, start fresh in hopes new roots will form.. I can’t decide but it definitely does not look good!
