Sorry I should have been clearer. I attached a picture of my current living room. The second picture in the original post is the new apartment I am moving to and I want to paint one of the walls there :)

The floor at the new apartment is carpet with yellow/beige-ish walls. Second picture attached.

Ah, this space needs a bit more than an accent wall color. First I suggest you keep the walls on a medium to lighter note because of the dark furniture, perhaps Sherwin Williams SW2201 Golden Gate. If the ceiling is higher than 8 ' or vaulted would be even better, I would paint the ceiling in a darker shade of gray to create some interest. It would be nice if the TV could be mounted on the wall and place a wood cabinet beneath for some needed storage. Definitely different throw pillows and a fun piece of art on the wall. Lose the rug. Yes, it needs a floor lamp for task lighting. It could be a fun room
