Just because you can paint doesn't mean you should paint.

You could leave the brick and never have to paint it; or, paint it now and in 2022, then in 2026, then in 2030, and again in 2034, and in 2038, and in 2042, and in 2046, and in 2050, and . . .

Any brick can be painted.

And Mark, we custom built a painted brick home 7 years ago...and it still looks perfect. We had it inspected 2 years ago when we were having another project done. Everything is in great condition.

The brick looks nothing like it did in the sample or pictures we were shown. I checked it is the correct brick. In large scale the brick looks tan. I thought we were choosing a white brick. When we pulled up to the house today my heart sank. I wanted a white distressed brick. At the moment I'm hating it.

It was done on Thursday and finished on Friday. OHHHH Please Sophie be right! But ya'll what up with the red bricks on the corners? Looks ridiculous!

Three of the four corners have red bricks like shown in the picture. The 4th corner the bricks are the distressed white. What did they do wrong there?

I think it will be fine - wait until it's all finished. It will come together.

I think it looks awesome. Seriously. Painted wouldn't look good. Wait till it dries. I had mortar put between my stones and at first it all looked too dark and gray. Now 2 months later, it looks perfect to me.

I’m waiting but now I’m hung up on the corners being red. Three of two corners on the house has these random red sided bricks. One corners bricks are white like the face of the bricks. I think i must have the red replaced. It just looks off to me.

ANYTHING can be painted but why would you want to do that over and over again????? Makes NO sense.

My husband works in brick manufacturing, and he said you will be fine if you just have your contractor touch up the reddish brick with paint. It should blend and not be noticeable.

Isn't flat brick like the top row generally installed at a slight angle, so water is directed away from the house, instead of running down inside? That's how it is on my house, anyway, but since mine is full brick, it's only like that on the window ledges and above the doors, never around a corner. I can see that the corners would present a problem, because the brick has to go with one angle or the other, or sort of straddle between.
