How old is your daughter?Mirror over dressers are realy passe most girls do make upi in the bathroom. IMO the first one will not last the test of time depending on the age of your child.My grand daughter hated the princess over head deccor by the time she turned 8 . IMO both are quite a bit over the top for a kids room .

She likes both but she also changes her mind every day... I guess you could say these two caught my eye the most. She is 4 and getting her own big girl bed so she is excited to get anything right now.

@Patricia: I am assuming the princess thing over the bed isn't part of the set or is at least very removable.

The PB set will likely grow with her better. The Giselle is very princess and she may not like that as much as she gets older. Plain is often good for large furniture pieces so you can change styles as she grows. The PB set is very likely better quality.

I didn’t think about that Patricia. The mirror over dresser look is pretty outdated and I hardly see them together anymore in furniture catalogs and model homes. Maybe I should just get the pbk bed now and invest in the dresser and some pretty frames to hang above once the bed is paid off.

They do that the same with the favorite color of the week. I think I woud go with something with no fabric in the actual bed , at 4 she is just not old enough to really be careful all the time. Then add the softness with great bedding in a color she likes for right now.

True. It would be less maintenance but Im concerned about her banging her head against a hard headboard. She is a ball of energy and keeps me on my toes

I wouldn't worry about her hitting her head. Most beds have a hard headboard and children are fine. If she hits her head, she'll learn not to do it again.

That fabric will definitely get dingy over time.

I would pass on both or maybe,just do the PB as a headboard. My daughter, when that young,might have used the footboard upholstery as a canvas for her,ummm,art. Have you considered cane?

Looking at the Blythe, it is a trundle bed. Is that a feature you are looking for?

I do like having the trundle option, for later on.

The Avery bed from PB is pretty and feminine without being too princess-y. It's also much less expensive. It looks like you can add a trundle to any of PB's beds so that's still an option.

PBTeen also has some cute girly ones that aren't quite as pricey. The Genevieve is really cute and on sale.

I mentioned cane because it is softer and that seemed to be a concern for you. There are so many charming options in upholstered,cane and solids...hard to go wrong ;-)

Also,round here,the vintage and 2nd hand shops are full of lovely,hardwood,excellent quality "French-style" dressers selling for much less than PB.

The little girl thing should be limited to linens/paint/art/decor/lamps etc. There is no reason a bed, dresser, and night stands can not last well into the late teens; I'd stick to Pottery Barn TEEN/Pottery Barn regular, in white, and get a storage bed. You can skip the dust ruffle, another bonus! Linens and paint as sweet and girly as you like. Little girls like junk. Lots of it. : ) and the junk doesn't leave until they leave. Think long term. White can be painted any color up the road, so another bonus there as well. You don't need to hear " My room is a baby room" in a mere four/ five years. Icky sweet is short lived indeed.
