I have a loquat tree that has gotten a new flush of leaves in the spring. Because the rootstock is still fairly skinny, it is now extra top heavy. I have it staked for now since we are in a windy area and to prevent the trunk from snapping in half even with the normal weight of the leaves.

Is there anything I can do to promote more trunk growth?
