It looks awesome! What kind of beams are on the pergola?

Hello, I ham wondering if you can share what size or kind of beams were used on the top of the pergola (i.e. are they wood or a wood-clad metal beam?). It looks like it spans a decent distance. I'm looking to do the same and am researching the options to prevent the beams from sagging.

Any info you can give is greatly appreciated!

Hi, thanks for your comments and question. Yes, the beams do span quite a distance. The structure was engineered, and the overall size is about 20' wide by 40' long. The covered part is about 20' x 20'. The posts and beams are hefty, too: 6x8 Standard Alaska Yellow Cedar Glu-Lams for the columns. A knife-blade for post-to-footing connection. The beams are 6x8's, and the rafters are 4x8's.
